1. Cleaning Your Fursuit

A) Surface Cleaning:

  • Use a fursuit-approved spray or a mix of water and gentle detergent.
  • Spray lightly onto the fur and use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe away dirt.
  • For deeper cleans, consider a fursuit bath.

    • B) Deep Cleaning (Fursuit Bath):

  • Fill a tub with cold water and add a gentle detergent.
  • Submerge your fursuit parts and gently agitate the water.
  • Rinse thoroughly and ensure no detergent remains.
  • Warning: Avoid washing machine usage; it can damage your suit.

  • Gently squeeze out excess water but do not wring the suit.
  • Hang the suit up in a well-ventilated area. Use fans to accelerate the drying process.
  • Brush the fur gently with a wide-tooth comb while it's still damp to prevent matting.

    A) Brushing:

  • Regularly brush your fursuit with a wide-tooth comb or a slicker brush to keep the fur fluffy and tangle-free.
  • Always brush in the direction of the fur.

  • Use fursuit-approved sprays to keep your suit smelling fresh.
  • Ensure the sprays don't contain harsh chemicals that could damage the fur or the inner lining.

  • Store your fursuit in a cool, dry place.
  • Hang up the body suit to prevent wrinkles. For heads, consider custom head stands.
  • Keep fursuits away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
  • Use garment bags for additional protection.

  • Avoid wearing your fursuit in environments where it can get stained or torn easily.
  • If your fursuit has electronics, ensure they are removed before cleaning.
